Dare to Dream Theatre Academy
Fall 2009
Where children develop important life skills and core values through
creativity and imagination. Youngsters experience the thrills and
challenges of live theater and blossom as they discover more about
themselves and the world around them. All in a fun, relaxed and
nurturing environment.
THE ACTOR IN YOU SERIES – FALL 2009
Explore worlds from literature. Learn acting and public speaking skills
while exploring current issues through exploration of the mythical
worlds of Dragons. Each group will stage a live performance at the end
of the session.
THE FIRST STEPS PROGRAM
A new program designed for young children ages 3-6. Children explore
storytelling and creative drama through music, movement, arts and
crafts and imaginative play. Each 45 minute session is self-contained
and requires parents to stay with their child and if desired, join in
some activities.
NOTE: The first class will be held for free at the manitowoc Public Library, so you can sample the quality of our program.
THE STAGES PROGRAM
A new series for young children ages 7 and up. Children will explore
performance and stagecraft through cross-curricular activities
including music, acting and movement. Each 90 minute session will spend
45 minutes exploring music through the Dalcroze method with Tricia
Marton and 45 minutes of acting or dance.
THE TRIPLE THREAT PROGRAM
Actors are admitted by invitation only through a rigorous audition process.
This program will provide the young actors selected to attend the
Junior Theatre Festival in January 2010 with additional training and
attention to prepare them for the festival. Participation in this class
is a requirement of, and included in, the cost associated with the
Junior Theater Festival. Actors interested in the class, but unable to
attend the Festival may be welcomed into the class.
