Volunteer opportunity/duties for Step Back In Time

Parent Patrol 
Each family with a child in the cast age 12 or younger must sign up for 3-5 daysThe sign up sheet is in the Volunteer Binder on the announcement table at the theater. 
Duties include:

  • Staying in assigned station or with assigned kids and keep them quiet and occupied. (rehearsals and performances)
  • Make sure kids in your group/station are prepared and ready to make entrances on time. (you will have a script with everything recorded)
  • During performances keep kids in their assigned areas
  • During performances make sure kids are not eating in costume
  • Listen to Stage Manager and help her out as needed

Fundraising 
All families involved are asked to be involved. E-mails will be sent out with details as we progress. 
Projects and goals.

  • Help plan the Girls & Dolls and Ice Cream Social Events August 8-10 2008
  • Raise $10,000 for High School Musical Budget
  • Sell ads in the 2008-2009 program
  • Brainstorm possible sponsors and submit addresses and contact names
  • Brainstorm fundraising opportunities

Promotion
All families are asked to help
Projects and goals

  • Take posters to 2 businesses in Two rivers, valders, Reedsville, Mishicot, Manitowoc (must be completed by July 20) You must turn in the list of where you left posters. It will be posted online and constantly updated so that we do not double locations.
  • Initiate word of mouth
  • Participate in events in the area that will help with promotion
  • Brainstorm other areas of promotion for D2D and this show
Sewing.
This is a take home project.

  • hemming and seaming of the curtains for the large audience windows

Props

Makeup
responsibilities. Sign up for the makeup team in the Volunteer Performance Binder.

  • Attend makeup training workshop
  • Help actors apply makeup
  • Set up makeup station prior to tech week
  • Clean up makeup after each show
  • Organize makeup for show
  • Record makeup needed for each actor
  • Help with hair
  • Help with designs for the makeup and hair
  • Help set up costume racks and make sure all costumes are in place.

Performance reception. 
The sign up sheet is in the Volunteer Binder on the announcement table at the theater.

responsibilities

  • Help decorate reception serving area
  • Set up and manage reception during intermission of at least 1 show.
  • Help with reception of at least one show
  • Sell tickets to reception
  • Mix juice
  • Set out cookies
  • Make sure no one takes a cookie or drink without a ticket or token

Box office/ticket sales.
duties Currently not accepting volunteers.

  • Sell tickets
  • Record sold and reserved tickets
  • Input information into the computer
  • Make sure seats and tickets match available
  • Return phone calls and e-mails regarding tickets.
  • Cut and organize tickets
  • Sit at box office table before performances to sell walk up tickets, record tickets sold.

Stage managing
Please submit an application.
Duties:

  • Write down and keep track of all blocking changes during rehearsals in SM script.
  • Make sure all actors are at rehearsals. Call them if they are not there and are not marked excused
  • Be on book to help with lines once actors are off book
  • Help keep actors quiet and on task backstage.
  • Help with tasks as needed from Over all Stage manager and director
  • Make sure all instructions/locations are posted for actors backstage
  • Make sure all costume/makeup changes are posted backstage and in dressing rooms for actors

Lighting or sound
responsibilities:

  • Attend rehearsals in late July early August to learn the light or sound board.
  • Run the light or sound for tech and performances
  • Assist with hanging lights or running sound (you will be contacted for work dates)
