Audition Requirements

• Attend open auditions or register for an audition slot
• Confirm your scheduled audition slot (click here to check the schedule)
• Bring a photo of yourself and your calendar
• Read, sign and return the Actor Contract & Parent Notice (Pdf file)
• Check out the Rehearsal Calendar and list all conflicts
• prepare to sing a song
• Auditions for consist of:
  • a simple dance sequence
  • singing
  • a simple acting excersise or reading from the script
    • Ancestors
    • Chi Fu, Shang, Mulan, Quian Po, Yao, Ling
    • Fa Zhau (Mulan's dad), Mulan, Chi Fu
    • Mulan, Mushu (Mushu's entrance)
    • Mulan, Fa Li (mulan's mother), Grandmother Fa
    • Mulan, Mushu (after Mulan is discovered to be a girl)
    • Mushu, Ancestors
    • Shang, Mulan, Mushu
    • Shun Yu, Huns, 2 Chinese Soldiers
• If you would like to be considered for a principal role or role with solos
  • Prepare 16 bars of a song that highlights your voice
  • bring sheet music or a CD with your accompaniment

Participation Requirements

If your youth is cast as an actor in MULAN JR, a family member will be expected to assist thru the run of the production in the following ways:

1. Actor Participation fee of $30 due at your first rehearsal. (Due for EACH ACTOR. Alternate options exist for families with more than 3 children in the cast )
2. Active participation by cast member’s family in Stage Families below for a total of 15 or more volunteer slots filled. (See Stage Family information below and complete the Volunteer commitment forms online.)
3. Parent Patrol for 8 or more rehearsals or performances (if youth is under the age of 12. Only needed for large youth cast productions.)
4. Provide required costume pieces for your child (may include an additional fee for rental or purchase of some costume pieces in some shows)
5. Put up posters at businesses you frequent
6. Sell 10-15 tickets to family and friends

If you choose not to complete these requirements, your child will be removed from the performance cast after the second warning.
