An
introduction to imagination and its use in theatre.
Children will use imagination and improvisation to explore theatre
games
with other children, building confidence and stage presence. Auditions
for
a play will give each child a chance to experience being in a play that
he
or she will work on during the class. Friends and family will have a
chance
to enjoy what the children have explored as the class presents a
collection
of stories for family and friends on the final day.
Each child will start their exploration by using imagination with other
children
in theatre games. Fun as these games are, they give each child a chance
to
grow in confidence, cooperation and quick thinking in a fun,
non-threatening
way.
The amount of time the children have may seem like a short time to
prepare
for a play, but you'll be surprised at what a good dose of excitement
and
enthusiasm can accomplish when guided by skilled hands.
